C More signs exclusive TV rights for the Swedish Elite Speedway Series

C More has entered into an exclusive TV rights agreement with the Swedish Elite Speedway Series (ESS) for the 2020-2022 seasons. The agreement includes all 82 matches each season to be shown on C More channels. Two matches per round, one on Tuesdays and one on Thursdays, are set to be broadcasted on its flagship sports channel, Sportkanalen.

”We are very pleased to be able to give our viewers one of Sweden’s most popular leagues. The Elite Speedway Series will now be widely available across the C More channels and OTT offerings.” says Johan Cederqvist, head of sports channels at C More and TV4.

”We are glad to be initiating this extensive partnership with C More. To be able to see the full league on TV is a highly anticipated development.  We look forward to working closely with our TV partner C More to ensure ESS is broadcasted in the best possible way,” says Mikael Holmstrand, vice chairman and media officer at ESS.

It is ESS’s media advisor, Spring Media, that has been leading the domestic sales process. In addition to representing the media rights the agency provides all production services,  as well as implementation and operation of the website and digital media platform www.elitspeedway.com – which will remain active as an archival and VOD platform, and as primary source for league news.

“The TV agreement is an integral part of the long-term strategy we’ve developed together with the ESS. The Elite Speedway Series counts the third highest overall audience numbers nationally, and with this C More deal it will now also become one of the most exposed in national TV media,” says Torsten Billing, Partner at Spring Media. “With a domestic broadcast agreement in place we will focus on international sales, productional planning, and negotiations with potential betting partners for the 2020-2022 seasons.”
