Danish Speedwayligaen and Spring Media partner on media rights
The four-year agreement includes centralized production of all races via Spring Productions, the creation of a SpeewayLigaen-branded SVOD streaming channel hosted by StayLive, and exclusive sublicensing rights to broadcast partners in Denmark and abroad.
Since 2017, Spring Media has been working within the international speedway community and has initiated partnerships with several speedway leagues – from Poland, the U.K., Sweden and France. With the Danish league partnership just inked, the international sports media agency is able to package some of the world’s most attractive speedway products to market.
“This partnership with Spring Media is an important steppingstone in fulfilling our vision to make SpeedwayLigaen a major sports brand in Denmark,” says Jørgen Bitsch, Chairman of the Danish Motor Union. “With a strong marketing presence and some of the most profiled riders globally – like Nicki Pedersen and Leon Madsen – we are excited to get our beloved sport out to an even broader audience together.”
The SpeedwayLigaen agreement, which spans across 2022-2025, includes centralized productions of all league races and a joint streaming channel. Matches run on Wednesdays from April through September.
“We are pleased to be taking on this journey of expansion with SpeedwayLigaen, with the ambition to increase media visibility and building long-term commercial value both home and away,” says Marcus Alm, Head of Operations at Spring Media. “We see great potential in the product and its professional organization and are excited to be adding yet another weekday of action-filled speedway races for those following along on-screen.”
