Jysk Fynske Medier to livestream Speedwayligaen 2022

SpeedwayLigaen and Danish media group Jysk Fynske Medier have agreed to co-exclusively livestream the 2022 speedway season. In addition to the newly developed club OTT platform – SpeedwayLigaenPlay.dk – featuring all league races, Jysk Fynske Medier will showcase one select race per round to its customer base each week.

“We would like to provide our subscribers with more content,” says Jørn Broch, digital editor-in-chief at Jysk Fynske Medier. “We’ve received clear indications from our users that live sports are an interesting extension to our news product, so we are pleased to acknowledge that by adding select races from the full SpeedwayLigaen season.”

The agreement is part of an active transformation that the club interest organization has taken ahead of this year. SpeedwayLigaen has now updated its centralized league website and built a streaming channel, SpeedwayLigaen Play, for which it commits to produce all league races.

“We are very pleased to be able to provide speedway to a broader fanbase,” says Marcus Alm, Head of Operations at Spring Media – the media rights management and production partner of SpeedwayLigaen. “We have seen from the Swedish speedway league that local media houses are fantastic partners in building proximity and exposure to the sport. The partnership with Jysk Fynske is an important cornerstone in our long-term ambition to grow the interest for SpeedwayLigaen and the sport commercially.”

Other than the national partnership, SpeedwayLigaen will also be shown weekly via Premier Sports in the UK & Ireland and is accessible globally via the SpeedwayLigaen Play. The season starts on April 20 – with, among others, last year’s top sides Sønderjylland Elite (SES) and Holsted Tigers racing each other at Vojens Speedway Center.
