Spring media broadens portfolio with mediterranean swim meets
Spring Media has announced a new cooperation with Mare Nostrum – an annual series of swimming meets around the Mediterranean Sea. The agreement concerns international distribution of the 2019 and 2020 series.
“We are thrilled to be adding one of the world’s most prestigious and traditional competitions to our swimming portfolio,” says Mikael Larsson, Head of Swimming at Spring Media. “We will be seeking innovative ways to expand distribution of the series around the world.”
The Mare Nostrum series is a three-part circuit by the Mediterranean Sea, with meets in Canet en Roussillon (France), Barcelona and Monaco. It gives out bonuses to the top four men and women overall, adding up competitors’ best meet in FINA points at each of the tour stops. The swimmer with the highest race total wins the tour.
Many of the leading swimmers worldwide have attended Mare Nostrum meets: among them Sara Sjöström, Kathleen Baker and Ian Thorpe. The 2019 series will kick off in Monaco on June 8-9, followed by Canet en Roussillon on June 11-12 and closing in Barcelona on June 15-16.
“We are thrilled to find a new partner for International partnership with Sprig Media. With their expansive plans and their proven swimming experience, we are very confident that this cooperation will help our series grow” says H. E. MS. Yvette LAMBIN BERTI, Vice President of the Swimming Monegasque Federation.
Spring Media will also be overseeing production and distribution for the Nordic Swim Tour meets taking place in Helsinki, Bergen and Stockholm in April. The meets include all Olympic disciplines, long course, are conducted under FINA rules, and participants gain qualification points for international competitions including World Championships and Olympics. The sport’s top names will be competing for one of the highest price sums in international swimming.
