Spring Media partners with Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro Tour for world events

Sports media agency Spring Media and the Abu Dhabi Jiu-Jitsu Pro Tour (AJP) have concluded an agreement for the debut of the organization’s expanded Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour – a series of top level Jiu-Jitsu events in six of the most important cities in the world.

The Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour enters its fifth season as a complete success. The newly added sixth host city, Moscow, will stage the first event on June 15-16. Some of the greatest names in the sport gather to compete for their share of the hefty cash prizes and valuable AJP ranking points.

Following Moscow, the Tour will make stops in:

  • Tokyo (July 27-28)
  • Los Angeles (September 14-15)
  • Rio de Janeiro (November 1-3)
  • Abu Dhabi (January 16-18, 2020)
  • London (March 2020)

The AJP Tour also hosts the Abu Dhabi King of Mats (ADKOM) – an invitational event gathering the very best Jiu-Jitsu competitors in the world, including the recent Abu Dhabi Grand Slam champions. On June 15, while in Moscow, the 10-men roster of heavyweight black belts will be competing for the ADKOM crown.

As the international circuit of tournaments continues to expand, the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour is now ready to take the next step in the global distribution and commercial development of the series. In this effort, Spring Media brings a rigorous track record in rights licensing and signal delivery to the table.

“We are thrilled to be working with such up-and-coming product as the Jiu-Jitsu Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Tour on a global scale and look forward to putting our market expertise in international distribution into practice,” says Nabil Mkarem, Commercial Manager at Spring Media.

“Based on over a decade of expertise in organizing Jiu-Jitsu tournaments globally, the AJP team embraces the mission of having Jiu-Jitsu recognized as a legitimate sport and Abu Dhabi home to the world’s premier entertainment events that connect with audiences through compelling content across television, motion picture, online and mobile platforms. Spring Media is a reliable partner with extensive knowledge in local markets, which will play a key role in ensuring our mission and global reach are met,” said Tareq Al Bahri, General Manager at the AJP.
