Spring Media & WTF announce broadcast rights cooperation
Spring Media and the World Taekwondo Federation today announced a global media rights partnership for all major WTF events, including WTF World Taekwondo Grand Prix series and final, the 2014 WTF World Junior Championships, and the 2015 World Taekwondo Championships.
The WTF World Taekwondo GP, launched in 2013, has proven highly popular among fight sport and Olympic broadcasters alike. The 2013 Grand Prix final in Manchester had broadcast partners on all continents including the BBC of the host country.
Commenting on the agreement WTF Dr. Chungwon Choue said:
“We are pleased to keep working together with Spring Media to further build up a successful track record in WTF major events, including the World Grand Prix series. “Together with Spring Media we will showcase the dynamism and beauty of taekwondo to an expanding global fan base.”
Hans Svelander, Partner at Spring Media, comments:
“We are deeply honoured to represent the global broadcast rights of the World Taekwondo Federation, and we see a great potential in its future. The WTF has done an impressive job in creating a great television product and platform to meet the demands of its viewers and broadcast partners. We look forward to the challenge of distributing the main taekwondo events and its Olympic qualifications in the lead-up to Rio 2016.”
